Leadership Al Garr VP of Sales & Marketing  As Absolute's VP of Sales & Marketing, Al's diverse electronic engineering experience spans aerospace, consumer electronics, and technology systems. He began his aviation technical career with Barfield Instrument Corporation where he held the position of Sales Manager primarily in aviation supplies and repair services. Before co-founding Absolute Aviation, he spent ten years in director and management level positions with aircraft component repair and overhaul facilities. After Barfield, Al was the Regional Sales Manager specializing in component repair services and sales to commercial airlines. His last position was as Director of Sales for Aviation Avionics and Instrument Corporation in NY. Al is a Midwest native and attended Valparaiso Technical Institute in Indiana. While attending college, Al received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. He also has an associate degree in electrical engineering as well as a Liberal Arts degree from Cuyahoga Community College. He is a veteran of the US Coast Guard where he served at Governor's Island, NY. Al also received military training in electronics with the Coast Guard entering into active duty in 1970. Designated as an Electronics Instructor, Al taught courses on Radar, Loran, AC & DC circuits, and logic / digital circuits. Al is an expert chef and enjoys spending creative time in the kitchen. When not preparing gourmet meals, he and his wife enjoy traveling abroad and experiencing different cuisines and cultures. |
